George L. Perry is an American economist[1] specializing in macroeconomic policy. A senior fellow at the Brookings Institution since 1970, he was a founding editor, with Arthur Okun, of the Brookings Papers on Economic Activity. He received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1961. Before joining Brookings, he taught economics at the University of Minnesota and was a senior economist at the Council of Economic Advisers.
